Whichever of the many tempting Hess selections you choose, you can be assured
of only the very highest quality product.
This has a lot to do with the Hess time-honored family tradition – from
generation to generation.
Founded in 1795 by Nathaniel Hess, "Hess" was synonymous throughout
Europe as producer of the very best meats – ever meticulously careful in
keeping the very strictest laws of Kashrut.
In 1912, continuing the tradition in Zwesten Germany,
Josef Hess expanded the
product line adding to the product line sausages and cold cuts, always ensuring
that the highest levels of perfection were met. The family standard of
excellence as well as the proven methods of producing quality results were
passed on to son Hermann.
Hermann Hess moved the operation to Basel, Switzerland where he enlarged the
operation including many of the delicacies available today in our Israeli
branches run by son, Marcel.
After being awarded numerous gold medals for excellence in worldwide
competitions, Marcel Hess continues today to offer only the highest quality,
maintaining family tradition, whether it be in our Jerusalem Glatt Kosher restaurant, bistro or
take-out.
